Highly dynamic

I love Dave Hill's photographic style; through photographic technique, lighting and a little Photoshop (but mostly technique and lighting), he creates some fantastic High Dynamic Range (HDR) images.
The other day, I discovered a couple of scripts for The Gimp that allow me to, well, fake it.
What that means is that I can take an image like this:
teiiko (by Sonny)
and turn it in to something like this:
teiiko - fake HDR

If you want to see more of my adventures in HDR, check out my flickr set.
If you're the deviant type, you can check them out in my dA gallery.

WoWPSS - slight return

A while back I wrote a simple Applescript mini-app for changing between World of Warcraft private servers.
Blizzard made a minor change to the realmlist file (it now includes the patch server, in addition to the realm), so I've updated the scripts to reflect that.
The original post is here and the links in the entry point to the updated versions.
If you''re not in the U.S., leave a comment below or use the Contact page, let me know what''s in your realmlist & I'll modify the script with the correct patch server for you.
I'll revise the ...

Slight Return: Applescript: TinyURLs for juhu

Updated post here, new script here.

In my opinion, juhu is the best OS X app for posting Jaiku updates.
But if it falls short of anything, that would be the functionality to convert long URLs (web site addresses) to TinyURLs.
TinyURLs?
TinyURL takes something like this:

http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/la-spinoffs-paris4mar04,0,5107650.story?coll=la-home-center

and converts it to something a little more manageable, like this:

http://tinyurl.com/2raq36

Using a Ruby script I found here as the foundation, I whipped up a quick and dirty Applescript to make TinyURLs for my juhu/jaiku updates.
When I say "quick and dirty", I mean it (I didn't feel like building it as a self-contained mini-app).
It passes a given web address to TinyURL, then copies the converted URL to the clipboard for pasting to juhu.
The Ruby script is in my home directory and the Applescript is in juhu's Applescript directory (thus, it's accessible from the menubar when juhu is the active application).

Applescript: TinyURLs for Twitterrific

Updated post here, new script here.

In my opinion, Twitterrific is the best OS X app for Twitter. But if it falls short of anything, that would be the functionality to convert long URLs (web site addresses) to TinyURLs.
